Visit Tampa Bay and HCHMA Bring Back Popular 'Tee Off for Tourism' Golf Tournament
Tee off

TAMPA, FL (TBD) – Tee Off for Tourism, presented by Visit Tampa Bay and Hillsborough County’s Hotel Motel Association (HCHMA), returns on May 7, 2021 at Saddlebrook Resort. The popular golf tournament marks the first hospitality industry event of 2021 and a portion of the proceeds fund scholarships for Hillsborough County students enrolled in Hospitality and Culinary Arts programs.

“Following our successful Annual Meeting at the end of 2020, we are excited to get back into the swing of hosting industry events that not only reunite our industry, but also benefit a worthwhile cause,” says Santiago C. Corrada, president and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay. “Investing in the future of tourism and hospitality is crucial, especially following a time when those trades were temporarily jeopardized by the pandemic.”

The annual golf tournament that has been presented by the two organizations for over a decade is sponsored by TECO, an Emera Company, Saddlebrook Resort Tampa, Topgolf, Valley Bank, Turner Pest Control, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and MOSI.

Tee off for Tourism has been a source of celebration for HCHMA and Visit Tampa Bay members to take a moment to recognize the vitality and platform that tourism and our hotel partners have meant to Tampa, Hillsborough County and the Tampa Bay community,” says Bob Morrison, executive director of HCHMA. “To be able to reinvest our proceeds to support not only our external education efforts, but also internal programs like Trends & Forecasting and the HCHMA Wage & Benefits Survey reflects the multilayered menu of services we are pleased to offer to our members and our community.”

With only 36 four-person teams, the event is almost sold out. For more information, contact Heidi Pope at hpope@visittampabay.com.
