TAMPA BAY CRAFT BEER

BAY CRAFTED

Brewing a great-tasting beer requires more than hops and barley. It takes innovation and an artist’s vision to create a brew that stands out from the rest. That’s why the art of beer making has played an integral part in establishing Tampa Bay as one of the top craft beer scenes in the country.

BREWERIES & DISTILLERIES

Cigar City Brewing needs no introduction as the #5 brewery in the nation. Dark Door Spirits and Florida Cane are the only two distilleries on our list, so we are highlighting them before we break down the two major districts for Tampa breweries: Ybor City and Seminole Heights.

CIGAR CITY BREWING

The cornerstone of Tampa Bay’s craft brewing community, Cigar City built on more than a century of brewing history – Florida’s first commercial brewery opened here in 1896 – to build Tampa Bay in the Sunshine State’s hub for crew beer. Staples like Jai Alai and Florida Cracker draw on that unique history along with Maduro, which is made with locally roasted Cuban coffee.

'TIL THE ROOSTER CROWS

YBOR CITY BREWERIES

Tampa Bay’s beer culture started here when Florida Brewing opened in the bustling Latin Quarter back in 1896. Between the district’s brick streets and iron balconies, you’ll find more than 130 years of Cuban culture – including classic cuisine at Florida’s oldest restaurant, a park dedicated to hero José Martí, and masters cigar makers still hand-rolling puros as they have since 1885.
