HEADS IN ACCESSIBLE BEDS

As part of our commitment to welcoming ALL visitors, we are part of TravelAbility’s Destination Ally Club, which provides us with access to The Accessibility Playbook, a handbook with data, research, links to resources, information, and videos that will help our destination accelerate its accessibility journey. We are part of a consortium of destinations researching hotel bed height to help travelers with disabilities choose hotels that meet their needs; the results of this program are below.

DoubleTree Rocky Point

📍 : 3050 N Rocky Point Dr W, Tampa, FL

Right off the water of Old Tampa Bay, the DoubleTree Rocky Point has 7 ADA-compliant guest rooms available. Some of these rooms are equipped with roll-in showers. In addition, each room is ADA-compliant, mobility accessible, hearing-accessible, or both. The hotel has accessible routes to the facilities and amenities it offers. There are accessible parking spaces at the hotel with van-accessible parking. There is a pool with a lift that looks out to the beautiful bay.

Le Méridien Tampa

📍 : 601 N Florida Ave, Tampa, FL

Constructed in 1905, the newly renovated Le Méridien hotel is located in a historic courthouse in the heart of Tampa Bay. It offers ADA-compliant rooms. In addition to the beautiful architecture and marble-paved hallways, the rooms have roll-in showers, transfer showers, and hearing and visible ADA-compliant kits upon request. Service animals are allowed. The hotel has a pool with an accessible entrance, pool lift, and sloped entry where you can unwind and relax.

Hampton Inn Tampa Downtown Channel District

This hotel, located in the heart of the Channel district, has one accessible room ready for your stay. It is an ADA-compliant room that is hearing, mobility, and visually accessible. Features include wider doorways, visual alarms, vibrating pads, and an inflatable chair upon request for getting in and out of the bath. Accessible parking spaces are available, including van-accessible parking. Accessibility transportation is available with advance notice to see all that Tampa has to offer.

Home2 Suites Tampa Downtown Channel District

Located in the heart of the Channel District, Home2 Suites offers hearing—and mobility-accessible studio and bedroom suites with a pool view or a beautiful view of the Tampa skyline. These ADA-compliant rooms are step-free, with lowered beds, light switches, sinks, and self-storage—visual alarms in rooms, hallways, and public areas. Accessible routes lead you to all the facilities and amenities the hotel offers. A pool with a lift is available to relax while looking at the heart of Tampa.

Courtyard Tampa Downtown

Accessible rooms offer mobility and hearing accessibility features, including roll-in showers, flashing door knockers, notification devices for the door and phone, and alarm clock telephone ringers. A pool is available with an accessible entrance, pool lift, and sloped entry. Service animals are welcome.

Residence Inn Tampa Downtown

A couple blocks away from the Tampa Theatre and Tampa Museum of Art, the Residence Inn provides six accessible rooms, ranging from spacious studio rooms to cozy bedroom suites. These rooms have roll-in showers, lowered electrical outlets, night guards, viewports, and hearing-accessible kits upon request. All facilities and amenities the hotel provides are accessible. There is also accessible on-site parking with van-accessible spaces.

Just a few minutes from Tampa International Airport and right off the water of Old Tampa Bay, The CURRENT provides one modernized accessible room with a stunning bay view. Inside the room, there is smooth tile flooring and a portable shower seat with a backrest. Valet parking is outfitted for wheelchair-equipped vehicles. Perform transfers are available to lift guests from the wheelchair to the vehicle. Relax by the pool or in the pool with a pool lift, where you can catch a beautiful sunset on the bay after a long day.
