HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY TOURISM COLLECTIONS CONTINUE TO RISE HEADING INTO THE SUMMER MONTHS

Visit Tampa Bay reports tourist development collections for April reaching almost $8 million


Tampa, FL (June 2, 2023) – Coming off the heels of a successful National Travel and Tourism Week, bringing together over 500 leaders and honoring 15 outstanding industry heroes, Visit Tampa Bay reports its highest month ever recorded in tourist development tax (TDT) collections. Hillsborough County’s TDT collections for April, reflecting March collections, hit $7,791,631, an 11.2% increase over the previous record set in 2022. 

This brings Tampa Bay’s total bed tax collections for the fiscal year to $40,556,297, marking the 24th consecutive month of record bed tax collections and hotel taxable revenue. Taxable hotel revenue for March totaled $129,974,269, a 10.5% increase over the previous record set in the fiscal year 2022. Hotel occupancy for April came in at 76.4% with the Average Daily Rate (ADR) coming in at $189.93 and Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) hitting $145.11.
