HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY TDT COLLECTIONS EXCEED $32M IN JUST SIX MONTHS

Visit Tampa Bay reports impressive total TDT collections for the first half of the 2023 fiscal year


Tampa, FL (May 3, 2023) – As a destination leadership marketing organization committed to creating the best visitor experience, Visit Tampa Bay reports TDT collections for March, reflecting February hotel collections, reached $6,797,170, a 12.9% increase over March of the fiscal year 2022. This brings the total TDT collections for the fiscal year thus far to $32,764,666.

Corrada, President and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay. “As we move into the second half of the fiscal year the industry will keep the momentum going as we continue to expand our culinary profile, open new attractions and welcome multiple high-profile conventions to Tampa Bay.” 

Hotel occupancy for March came in at 84.7%, according to STR. Inc., with Tampa Bay leading in occupancy for both convention and leisure sales competitive sets. Average Daily Rate (ADR) for March averaged $201.65 with Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) coming in at $170.78. Total taxable hotel revenue for February reached $113,377,816, a 13% increase over the previous record set in the fiscal year 2022. This represents a 72.5% increase for the same month over the fiscal year 2021 and a 35.4% increase over the same month in 2020.

Visit Tampa Bay continues to highlight the importance of the hospitality and tourism industry by celebrating National Travel & Tourism Week (NTTW) in May. The week kicks off as Hillsborough County’s landmarks light up red, the official color of NTTW. The celebration continues with Visit Tampa Bay’s Tourism Gives Back event and concludes with the annual National Tourism Week Luncheon honoring community leaders and hospitality champions.
