The Florida Orchestra (TFO) is recognized as Tampa Bay’s leading performing arts institution, the largest professional orchestra in Florida, and one of the most vibrant and innovative orchestras in America. Under the leadership of Music Director Michael Francis, TFO performs series of classical, popular, and morning coffee concerts in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater, as well as free Pops in the Park concerts. The orchestra is dedicated to connecting to the community both in-person and virtually, with family and youth concerts and other educational programs.

Our musicians are an internationally trained group of professionals. The scope of musical training among them includes Juilliard, Central Conservatory of Beijing, Eastman School of Music, Northwestern, Kiev Conservatory in the Ukraine, Bela Bartok Conservatory (Budapest), Cleveland Institute of Music, Yale University, and Conservatorio di Musica di Santa Cecilia (Rome), among others.

We play Tampa Bay! The orchestra regularly performs at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa, The Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg, and Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater.
