A visit to the Tampa Firefighters Museum takes you back in time through the exhibits and stories housed in this 1911 fire station.  Born of a dedication to not letting Tampa's firefighter history get lost, as well as a mission to offer education to the community, a group of retired and active firemen saved the former station just before it was set to be destroyed.    Together they worked to plan and execute stages of restoration for The building and plans were made.  The museum is a non profit organization that has preserved both the actual 1911 firehouse structure, but also some of the first tools and equipment used to extinguish any Bay Area blazes.  It once held horse drawn firetrucks and stood while we transitioned from horse to diesel.  Some of the rigs and wagons can be viewed at the museum today.

TFM is supported by 2 annual fundraisers, donations, and revenue from the beautifully refurbished second floor.  Exposed beams, original wood floors, and walls of tall windows are a blank canvas to the event of your dreams.  A caterers kitchen is attached, as well as a mobile bar, and many people enjoy having their food set up in the Cafe Breakout room which is adjacent the main room.  This makes for tidy, behind the scenes clean up after dinner while guests enjoy themselves in the main room.
