Bowls for Good is a nonprofit initiative based in the Tampa Bay area that combines woodworking and community engagement to combat hunger. Founded by Ben Farrell, the organization invites volunteers—regardless of woodworking experience—to craft wooden bowls from locally sourced lumber. These bowls are then sold at fundraising events, with all proceeds donated to Feeding Tampa Bay, a regional affiliate of Feeding America.
Each handmade bowl sold can provide approximately 140 meals to individuals and families in need. Farrell personally covers all operational costs, ensuring that 100% of the funds raised go directly toward hunger relief efforts.
In addition to Bowls for Good, the Tampa Bay area hosts similar events like "Empty Bowls," organized by Feeding Tampa Bay. These events feature handcrafted bowls made by local artists and community members, with proceeds supporting hunger relief initiatives.
