VISIT TAMPA BAY LAUNCHES LARGEST TALENT RELOCATION CAMPAIGN

Partnership with Tampa Bay EDC and Hillsborough County to target out of state professionals

Tampa, FL (March 13, 2023) – Following hugely successful leisure and convention marketing campaigns focusing on the advantages of Tampa Bay’s hospitality, Visit Tampa Bay is encouraging young professionals to “work where you love” in its latest and most expansive Make It Tampa Bay campaign. Created in 2017 in partnership with the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council and Hillsborough County, the Make It Tampa Bay marketing platform focuses on generating awareness of Tampa Bay as the ideal city for relocation.

Launching this month with extensive support through 2023, the new $1 million mass-media campaign takes advantage of the findings that most people relocate somewhere they have visited before. Visit Tampa Bay strategically taps into this key learning by targeting markets where the destination is running its current leisure travel campaign, such as Boston, Chicago, New York and Washington D.C.

“The Make it Tampa Bay collaboration has become a national model for partnerships between tourism and economic development organizations,” said Santiago Corrada, President and CEO of Visit Tampa Bay. “Tampa Bay ranks among the top places Americans want to move to now, and this new campaign underscores the reasons why this is the best place to live, work and build a business. With the area offering a thriving downtown, endless activities, incredible culinary scene and world-class attractions, you can find the career opportunities you are looking for while feeling like you are on vacation year-round.”

“Hillsborough County is experiencing massive growth in the finance, life sciences, information technology, cybersecurity, fintech and health tech industries,” said Craig J. Richard, President and CEO of the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council. “With major tech companies expanding their operations to the Tampa Bay area, our talent attraction campaign will draw in more young professionals with these specializations to relocate to our beautiful destination.”

The campaign leverages the creative platform created by FKQ Advertising + Marketing and showcases the destination’s perfect balance of relaxation and exhilaration through a mix of lifestyle and workplace imagery. The campaign will run on a mix of media channels including video in office buildings, coworking spaces, popular connected TV programming and podcast sponsorships that target key industries with audio messages. Also, the campaign can be found on digital displays, paid social and paid search that directs career advancers to makeittampabay.com. The website provides local testimonials, moving resources and helps professionals find enriching career opportunities.
