VIDEO SERIES

ON THE HORIZON

In an effort to energize and tease visitors and locals about what Tampa Bay has in store, Visit Tampa Bay launched a new video series highlighting the destination’s most anticipated openings, including new developments, hotels, attractions and restaurants.

CASA SANTO STEFANO

The series kicks off with an update on the highly anticipated opening of Casa Santo Stefano, the brainchild of fourth-generation owner of the Columbia Restaurant Group, Richard Gonzmart. Housed in a former 1925 Ybor City macaroni factory, Casa Santo Stefano pays fond tribute to the food that Gonzmart ate every Sunday at his best friend’s Sicilian household. Those Nana-cooked meals provide the inspiration for the pastas, sauces and seafood that will be featured at the Tampa restaurant when it opens later this year.

J.W. MARRIOTT WATER ST.

Take a rare look inside Tampa Bay’s premier convention hotel and its construction progress. Set to open before the year ends, the J.W. Marriott will welcome not only convention guests, but also visitors looking for luxury amenities, gourmet dining, spa experiences and vistas unlike any other in Tampa Bay.

JOTORO

JOTORO, a brand-new Mexican restaurant anchoring Sparkman Wharf and bringing Tex Mex to a whole new level. Helmed by Michelin-starred chef, Joe Isidori, JOTORO boasts traditional and fusion fare, over-the-top artwork, and a tequila bar at the heart of the restaurant. See why Joe decided on Tampa Bay and what to expect at JOTORO.

J.C. NEWMAN CIGAR CO.

Our next installment of On the Horizon takes us inside J.C. Newman Cigar Company, the oldest family-owned cigar factory in America and soon-to-be museum. From vintage cigar machines to a centuries-old "reloj", this museum preserves the very best of what makes Tampa Bay the Cigar Capital of the World.
