YBOR ARTS TOUR

Join multiple arts venues, creative businesses and artists' studios in Ybor City for a special self-guided tour on Thursday, October 17th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Start at LAB Theater Project or Coastal Film Lab or create your own route. Be sure visit each venue for a unique experience and pick up a wristband for discounts at the afterparty hosted by The Bricks. See the full list of spaces and times below!

Parking Info

*Ybor City parking lots 3,5 & 6 allow free parking for 2 hours ($1 parking fee for each additional hour). tampa.gov/parking/programs/garages-and-lots

HCC is also offering free parking passes available at our starting venues and HCC Ybor campus. Please note parking passes are only valid in an HCC-designated lot.


 

Color Blind?

Do you experience red-green color blindness? Visit Tampa Bay is providing EnChroma Glasses for the Ybor Arts Tour. They can be picked up at Kress Contemporary or LAB Theater, first come, first serve.

1. LAB Theater Project

A professional theater company that stages brand new, never produced works by local, national and international playwrights. Tour participants may get to see part of a rehearsal of LAB's upcoming play, “Crazy Quilts.” Artworks by local artists are also on display in LAB's gallery/lobby space.

2. Coastal Film Lab

A full-service film photography store focused on promoting the local photography community. We will be featuring a preview of “12x12" our next open submission gallery show.

3. The Commodore

Tampa's new home for improv, sketch, and alternative comedy. Our signature show “Salud and Happy Days” invites Tampeños to share their true stories and experiences of life in our city; those stories then inspire hilarious improv comedy from Tampa Bay's best comedians.

4. Gallery 114 @ HCC

A contemporary visual arts gallery located in the Performing Arts building. The current exhibition "Photographic Tableaux | Fabricated Realities" features artists Jaime Aelavanthara, Suzanne Camp Crosby and Thomas Whitworth. During the tour, the gallery is hosting a public reception with free food, live music and an artist panel discussion.

5. HCC Dance Program

Offers comprehensive dance education for all skill levels. For the arts tour we’ve invited Ybor-based actors and dancers to participate in an informal showcase of works in progress. Come experience vibrant local talent and see exciting new performances taking shape!

6. Marcolina’s Fine Arts Gallery

8. Kress Contemporary

At Tampa Tunes Public Piano Partnership, we believe that art reflects the human experience, and we are committed to creating works that inspire, challenge, and move our audience. We plan to *permanently* install pianos around Tampa Bay so that the ability to make music and build community will be accessible and available to everyone at no cost 24/7/365.

11. Bookends: Literature & Libations 

Pop-up at Gasparilla Distillery & Cocktail Bar

A pop-up bookstore hosted by Gasparilla Distillery. The event will feature the darker side of literature. Marie Still will discuss her chilling suburban noir, My Darlings, and Joshua Ginsberg will take us on a virtual haunted history tour. ‘Tis the season for terror!

12. The Bricks

The Bricks serves creative recipes with locally sourced ingredients, classic cocktails and a lot of everything for all to enjoy. The venue will be hosting the Ybor Arts Tour after party.
