Tampa Theatre and AEG Presents are proud to announce that the quirky podcasters from Welcome to Night Vale are returning to Tampa Theatre’s historic stage at 8:00pm Thursday, Nov. 16.

Called “a geeky cultural gem” by CBC, Welcome To Night Vale is a twice-monthly podcast in the style of community updates for the small desert town of Night Vale, featuring local weather, news, announcements from the Sheriff’s Secret Police, mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events. Or, as The New York Times put it, “With its uncanny blend of the macabre and the mundane, the news out of Night Vale sounds like what might occur if Stephen King or David Lynch was a guest producer at your local public radio station.”
Their new live show stars the one, the only, the voice of Night Vale, Cecil Baldwin. There will also be performances by the legendary Symphony Sanders as Tamika Flynn, plus other surprise guests. And, of course, live music by Disparition and live weather performances.
Night Vale’s unforgettable live shows bring the audience into the story in surprising and thrilling ways. “Over the years, our live shows have become the heart of the Night Vale experience,” says the Night Vale crew. “They are unique theatrical evenings that take you to our weird little town in a way you can’t get from listening to the podcast at home. This live show is entirely stand-alone and does not require any knowledge of the podcast, so bring a friend or a parent or a child or a neighbor.”
