The Tampa Museum of Art, which houses one of the largest Greek and Roman antiquities collections in the Southeastern United States and has an innovative assortment of public programs, turns 100 years old in 2020. To help commemorate its history, the museum's curatorial team selected the best of the best from the institution's permanent collection. This special exhibition, The Making of A Museum: 100 Years, 100 Works is on view through March 15, 2020. Visitors can see 100 handpicked pieces from about 7,700 works, some of which have not been on display for years. The exhibit allows users to witness how the museum, which once was located on the University of Tampa campus, grew into a what it is today: a preeminent museum of art.
