This event celebrates, and awards BAMA member companies and individuals who have made a difference in the local community and within the organization through our Manufacturer of the Year and Emerging Leader awards. Featuring Dutch FashionTech Designer Anouk Wipprecht. She combines Fashion with Robotics, Interaction Design and Machine Learning.
Networking and Cocktail Reception: Come connect with our finalists, student robotics teams, STEM fair winners, scholarship winners past and present and those from the manufacturing and the business community. Enjoy the interactive robotics demonstrations!
Keynote Speaker: Meet Anouk Wipprecht, Dutch FashionTech Designer, Roboticist, Technologist, Innovator, Prototyper, Tinkerer, & Educator (Girls+Tech). Designer, Engineer and Innovator working in the emerging field of "FashionTech" - a rare combination of fashion design combined with engineering, robotics, science and interaction/user experience design to make fashion an experience that transcends mere appearances. She wants her garments to facilitate and augment the interactions we have with ourselves and our surroundings. Her Spider Dress is a perfect example of this aesthetic, where sensors and moveable arms on the dress help to create a more defined boundary of personal space while employing a fierce style.
Partnering up with companies such as Intel, AutoDesk, Swarovski, Dremel, Disney, TED, Google, Microsoft, Cirque Du Soleil, Audi, and 3D printing companies Materialise + Shapeways amongst others, she researches how our future would look as we continue to embed technology into what we wear.
