Mango the Manatee joins Visit Tampa Bay

Visit Tampa Bay introduced its addition to the world in a big way in November.

Mango the Manatee is a plush member of Visit Tampa Bay’s promotions to industry insiders, leisure travelers and meeting-and-convention organizers. The toy manatee sports a black shirt emblazoned with Visit Tampa Bay’s iconic lock-and-keys logo in blue.

Mango’s first stop:  World Travel Market, London.

Over the course of several days, Mango posed with loads of travel industry professionals, Visit Tampa Bay President & CEO Santiago Corrada and VISIT FLORIDA President and CEO Will Seccombe.

“Mango is a cute, fun way to connect with travelers to Tampa Bay, which already home to hundreds of manatees every winter,” Corrada said. “She reminds everyone of the treasures awaiting them in Tampa Bay.”

Tampa Bay is home to the Florida’ only non-profit manatee hospital at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo, as well as the Tampa Electric Manatee Viewing Center in Apollo Beach.
