Good Morning fine arts fans of Tampa Bay.... Jessica here with a great Tampa Bay entertainment update ~
The nationally acclaimed Patel Conservatory Youth Orchestra (PCYO), with more than 250 young performers from 75 high schools in seven counties, will perform its Spring Concert on Sunday, May 2 at 2:30 pm. The concert will take place in Ferguson Hall at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts (formerly the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center).
PCYO groups performing will include Concert Strings, String Sinfonia, Junior Philharmonic and YOuth Symphony. Under the direction of Dr. William Wiedrich, the students will perform Rimsky-Lorsakov's Scheherazade and Andre Jolivet's Concertino.
The PYCO, which consists of students ages seven to twenty, has performed twice by invitation at Carnegie Hall in New York City! Students audition annually to participate in the five different orchestras and chamber ensembles in the PYCO program. Tickets for the spring concert are $10 to $20 in advance and $12 to $22 the day of the performance.
