Hey there Tampa! Lisa here with fun news for anyone who loves to travel (I still want to figure out how to steal Samantha Brown's job. So I personally LOVE traveling)!
The John F. Germany Public Library (Tampa Public Library), is going to have a very special guest on Saturday, February 5th, at 11am. This special guest or rather guests are the magic behind one of the best-selling travel guides in the world. Any one guess who it is? Ok I suppose I will tell you now.
Arthur and Pauline Frommer the famous father daughter team will be offering their travel and vacation expertise during a one-hour program at the John F. Germany Public Library located st 900 N . Ashley Drive in Tampa.
If you are still confused about who the Frommer's are maybe this will help remind you. They started their empire with the 1957 edition of Europe on $5 a day (Oh to be able to do that now)! They have more than 350 books, and 14 different series, and they have even created budget-oriented guides.
What's cool about this special program is how Tampa was chosen! Libraries from around the country were asked to create and exhibit which answered the question, "How do you travel with Frommer's?" Our library was chosen based on their creative and interactive exhibit. The display spanned five floors and featured giant postcards complete with an Arthur Frommer stamp and doubled as a photo-op by allowing people to insert themselves into each scene.
The display also demonstrated how Frommer's uses social media and technology to deliver content to traveler's on-the-go.
So if you are free on February 5th (Saturday), and have a an hour to spare, stop over to the Library and get some free tips on traveling from the best!
That's all for now, but keep checking back for more Things To Do In Tampa Bay, and other Tampa Bay Area Events.
