From spooky Halloween events to discounted or free museum admission, here are this weekend's top five picks for family fun.

1. Have a Ghoulish Good Time at this weekend’s special Shriek Peek for ZooBoo at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo. Dare to find out what lurks in the dark while making your way through new haunted houses at the largest family-friendly Halloween event in Tampa Bay! Tremble with fear trekking through new trails and discover spooky fun for the little ones. Parents don't worry; everything is kid-friendly and each attraction ranges with different “scare factor” zones. The event is on select Friday and Saturday nights through October.

2. Be spooked in downtown Tampa and get in the Halloween spirit with Ghost Tours of Tampa! Learn the tales of the ghosts that haunt Tampa, from the Haunted Tampa Theatre and the Phantom Ships in the Bay. Tours leave nightly from Fresh Café and last 75-90 minutes. Tours cost $15 for adults and $10 for children.

3. Experience $5 Deal Days at Glazer Children’s Museum through Sept. 30 in celebration of the museum’s birthday. Take the little ones to discover the 170 interactive exhibits, from piloting a cruise ship to flying an airplane to designing a city! Stop by Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park afterwards for some outdoor fun in the fountains or on the playground.

4. Visit a local museum on Free Museum Day, this Saturday, Sept. 28. Created by the Smithsonian Magazine, Saturday is the day to take in many art forms! Local participating museums include The Dali Museum, Tampa Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Tampa Bay History Center and the Ybor City Museum.
