Hey Tampa Bay.. Alex here to inform you about Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo military appreciation program for members of the military and their families.
To celebrate, the Zoo will host Red, White & Zoo on Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4. Members of the military and up to three direct dependents are invited to visit the Zoo free of charge on these two days. Free admission applies to active duty, reservists or members of the National Guard with a valid military I.D. and up to three direct dependents.*
On Sunday, July 4 only, during select times, the Zoo’s American bald eagle (held by a Zoo animal ambassador) will be available for photo opportunities. Military members and their families will be given priority in the photo line and one free 4” X 6” print will be given to each military family. Zoo guests are welcome to take photos with personal cameras, as time allows.
In addition, on Sunday, the Zoo will welcome a Big Band swing dance performance in the Safari Lodge, and guests will find red, white and blue treats like cupcakes and snow cones for the occasion.
In an ongoing tribute, effective July 1, the Zoo will offer active duty military discounts at the Zoo’s ticket windows daily. Active military discounts are for daytime admission only for active duty members and up to three direct dependents (with valid military I.D.). Discounted Zoo tickets are also available at MacDill Air Force Base at the Information, Tickets & Travel office. A valid military or DOD Civilian I.D. is required for purchase.
*Military member must accompany dependents. Free tickets must be the lesser value if more than three dependents in attendance. Not valid with any other discounts or offers. Offer subject to change or cancellation. No rain checks.
