Greetings Tampa!  Jessica here with yet another Tampa Bay entertainment update from the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.  Saturday, May 15, students from the Patel Conservatory will perform in Student Showcase events on stage in the TECO theater at the Straz Center.

A total of three performances are scheduled:  Beginning at noon, will be the Youth Student Showcase, including talents in Broadway, Hip Hop, orchestra, and ballet.  At 3:30PM, students in grades six through twleve will display artisitic skills in vocals, Broadway, Hip Hop, theater, and ballet.  And last, but not least, at 7:30PM the Adult Student Showcase, will feature adult students enrolled in music, acting, musical theater, and dance classes (including tap, flamenco, ballet, and hip hop).

"For anyone interested in taking a class, watching a showcase is a great way to get some insight about what they might expect as a student," said Wendy Leigh, vice president of education at the Straz Center.  Regularly priced tickets are $8 in advance and $10 the day of the show.  Purchase tickets by calling 813.229.7827 or at www.strazcenter.org.
