I haven’t been to any new restaurants lately but sometimes there’s nothing better than an old favorite. Old favorites provide us with something that new restaurants can’t offer; the comfort of knowing exactly what you’re going to get before you walk in the door. Going to a place that’s close to our hearts, where we’ve created fond memories and had great times with old friends. We all have a place like that. For me, that place is J. Alexanders, or “Jay’s” to us frequent patrons. I’ve had too many great times at Jay’s to count. But beyond the memories, it’s the amazing food and the impeccable service that keeps me coming back for more.
Their unique twist on American favorites will stimulate your palate and excite your senses. From their melt-in-your-mouth filets to the to-die-for mac-and-cheese, Jay’s prepares everything with the utmost care and attention to detail. I know what you’re thinking, and as a restaurant lover and a fan of local business I wouldn’t normally write about a chain restaurant either but trust me this doesn’t feel like your run-of-the-mill, insert chain name here, Bar & Grill. Jay’s is different. Its sultry décor and smooth ambiance make it the perfect place for all occasions. From business dinners to romantic evenings, and everything in between, J. Alexander’s is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in the Bay area.
So if you’re looking for a great place to meet friends, make friends or impress the friends you have then spend an evening at J. Alexanders. I guarantee within no time it will be one of your old favorites too.
And now that you know my old favorite I’d love to know what some of yours are, so leave me a comment and let me know which Tampa restaurants are near and dear to your heart!
