Hey Tampa, Melissa back again to talk about the Ninth Annual “Richards Run for Life” 5K that will take place on Friday, November 5th in historic Ybor City’s Centennial Park. The walk starts at 7 p.m. and you are invited to walk, run and enjoy some delicious food while helping researchers find a cure for cancer.
The race was created by Columbia Restaurant President, Richard Gonzmart and is part of the Gonzmart Family Foundation. It was designed as a way to combine Richard’s passion for running with his passion to help find a cure for cancer.
What is really good to hear is that 100% of the proceeds are going directly to Advanced Prostate Cancer Collaboration (APCC). If that is not enough of a reason to get you out there, the amazing food should be! The entry fee is $25 per person donation for online pre-registration through October 31st or any post marked entry by October 29th-which includes a T-shirt and runners packet!
Anyone who is a registered runner/walker is invited to a post-race party, with a $20 donation, and only $10 for children under the age of 12. The party will take place in Centennial Park and will feature music and food-including Columbia’s world famous Paella, Black Beans and Rice and the Columbia’s original “1905 Salad™. Also included on the party menu are tacos from Moe’s Southwestern Grill, Guava BBQ Ribs from Cha Cha Coconuts and ice-cold Michelob Ultra beer.
This sounds like it is going to be a great time and for a great cause. Please visit the website for more information and to register. And, as always, keep checking back here for more great things to do in Tampa Bay and other Tampa Bay Area events.
