It seems like every day one more Tampa Bay hotel goes Green! The Hyatt Regency Tampa, Sheraton Suites Tampa Airport, Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina and Embassy Suites Tampa- USF have all recently been given the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Green Lodging designation.
The Green Lodging Program requires facilities to meet environmentally-friendly guidelines by increasing energy efficiency, water conservation, clean air practices and waste reduction. A lot of time and effort goes into transforming a hotel property into a Green facility, so we need to make sure these hotels get the recognition they deserve. They are taking the necessary steps to better our environment, which is something that we all have to start thinking about.
Join me in congratulating these hotel properties on their efforts and their Green designation!
Do you know of any hotels that are working on getting a Green Lodging designation? Let me know and I would love to highlight them as well. Good work deserves recognition and praise.
Please post any comments or questions that you may have about the Green Lodging Program and stay tuned for more information on Tampa's Green hotels.
