Hey everyone!  Travis here with some cool Tampa Bay entertainment options that are educational too!  Now you can see mathematical subjects transformed into art at MOSI.  Here's the scoop:

MOSI is displaying the artwork of Elaine Krajenke Ellison in the 2nd floor Connecting Hallway now through January 29, 2010.

She combines mathematics and quilting to depict a love of mathematical concepts while paying tribute to famous artists and scientists around the world.

Ellison, now a retired mathematics teacher, transformed her classroom from a traditional setting to a hands-on experience, encouraging students to explore mathematics as they gained geometric insights through quilting.

Her quilts engage the viewer in mathematical visualization, helping to further the role of problem solving.

How cool...right?  If you want more info on Ellison and her mathematical quilts, just visit www.mathematicalquilts.com.

Here's the great part...admission to this exhibit is included with a MOSI general admission ticket!  So, make your plans to head over there soon!  Plus, you can log on to www.mosi.org to get more information about this and other Tampa Bay area events taking place over there.

And as always, keep checking back here for more great things to do in Tampa Bay.
