Hey guys, jerm here again with another call to everyone to be sure that we welcome the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA) as it brings its LandWarNet conference to downtown Tampa next week. The conference will be held from Aug. 3-5 and will take place at the Tampa Convention Center.
Approximately 6,500 delegates are expected to attend the annual conference, producing 10,000 hotel room nights for an estimated economic impact of $3 million. Now that's allot of coin folks!
With more than 31,000 members, AFCEA International, established in 1946, is a non-profit membership association serving the military, government, industry and academia as an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, IT, intelligence and global security.
AFCEA supports local chapters, sponsors events, publishes the award-winning SIGNAL Magazine, promotes education and provides member benefits - all with the purpose of equipping its members to meet government's challenges and to further their careers. To learn more, log on to www.AFCEA.org.
As usual lets extend a great big Tampa Bay team welcome to this group and make them feel at home in our city! That's all for now, but be sure to stay tuned in for more updates on Tampa Bay meetings and Tampa Bay area events!
