For those of you who didn't know, legendary rockers the Stone Temple Pilots will be live in concert at the St. Pete Times Forum this Friday to help kick-off Lightning Launch weekend as the Tampa Bay Lightning kick-off the regular season hockey schedule!
Stone Temple Pilots stood high atop the Alternative music mountain in the 1990's, landing 15 singles in the Billboard Top Ten with such hits as "Big Empty," "Plush" and "Vasoline." Coarse guitars, sweltering vocals and an excessive pedigree served as a highway for this California quartet to ride for nearly twenty years.
Their five-album discography has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. In Spring 2008, STP officially revealed that the band were reuniting and launched a massive 2008 concert tour encompassing over 65 dates and hitting all corners of North America.
Marking the first national tour for Stone Temple Pilots in almost eight years, the tour brought the iconic band’s charismatic musicianship and exhilarating live shows to amphitheaters across North America. Scott Weiland, Robert DeLeo, Dean DeLeo and Eric Kretz roared back onto the music scene in early 2010 with the release of a ferocious self-titled disc.
Since I am such an awesome guy, instead of keeping all of these tickets to myself, I am giving away three sets of (4), yes you heard right... (4) tickets! That is twelve total tickets in one day folks!
As always, Here is a refresher on the way the giveaway will work. Instead of re-tweeting, just answer the question(s) on Twitter. If you are reading this on Facebook, just simply answer the question by making a comment to the Facebook post.
Once you do that you will be entered in to win, as we will randomly draw three names total. For those of you playing on Twitter and who choose to re-tweet, it does indeed increase your chances of winning.
Okay, enough of me yapping, lets get to the trivia!
- Name the song for which STP won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 1994.
- Before they officially took the name "Stone Temple Pilots," what was the original name of the band?
- Before returning to the Stone Temple Pilots in 2008, lead vocalist Scott Weiland was once the front man for what "HardRock SuperGroup?"
That's all for now folks, but check back later this afternoon and I'll reveal the winners. Until then, stay tuned in for more updates on things to do in Tampa Bay!
