Good afternoon everyone, Alex here to tell you how Tampa is celebrating National Train Day.
National Train Day celebrates America’s love for trains with events from coast-to-coast. This year marks the fourth annual celebration with large-scale, family friendly events that provide opportunities to explore interactive, educational exhibits that bring to life the rich narrative of how trains have transformed America and will continue to do so in the future.
On Saturday May 7, Tampa will be participating in this celebration by hosting a variety of activities at the Tampa Union Station. This celebration runs from 12 noon- 5p.m. Admission is free.
The event will include Amtrak equipment displays, operating model trains from the Suncoast and H.B. Plant Model Railroad Clubs, live music, and exhibits from the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library/Burgert Brothers Photograph Collection, Operation Lifesaver, Florida Railroad Museum, Florida Coalition of Rail Passengers, City of Tampa Historic Preservation and Urban Design, and the Friends of Tampa Union Station.
Make sure to tell your friends and family to hop onboard with you for some of the National Train Day festivities.
