Hey Tampa! This is Lisa (Come Play Golf February 4th!yes again) with an update about a fun reason to Golf Tampa Bay!

The Kids Charity of Tampa Bay and The Florida Aquarium are teaming up to host the Surf & Turf Classic on February 4th. I know, I know you're think holy cow it's not even December, why are you writing about something in February!? Well I will tell you. The registration for this event is January 28, and that's really only two months from now.

This tournament will be played at the MacDill Air Force Base, Bay Palm Golf Course. I've never been on the course, but know some who have and they love it! The tournament will start at 12:30pm with a shotgun start, and Lunch, a putting contest, and silent auction will take place at 10:30am.

The Surf & Turf Golf Classic benefits The Florida Aquarium and Kids Charity of Tampa Bay. The Aquarium's mission is to "entertain, educate and inspire stewardship about our natural environment. They depend on support from the community to be able to run these programs. The proceeds from this event support their Teacher Education Program. With the money raised they are able to provide teachers with field experiences, classroom techniques, resources and activity packets so they  may better teach students about Florida's environmental issues.

Kids Charity of Tampa Bay's mission is "to improve the quality of life for foster children by providing advocacy, opportunities, support, and resources." One way they do this is through A Kid's Place; a state-of-the-art Residential Care Facility providing a safe, stable and loving environment for abused, abandoned and neglected children from birth to seventeen years of age. They provide "a homelike atmosphere and accommodations to meet the needs of the single child and the largest families."

Both of these charities are helping Tampa become a better place. So what a great way to enjoy Tampa Bay Weather, and help change the lives of local children.

That's all for now, but stay tuned for more Tampa Florida News Updates, and other Tampa Bay Area Events.
