Hey Tampa Bay, Melissa here to tell you that Tampa’s MOSI will be hosting a fossil dig event on October 9th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can be part of Florida’s ancient and intriguing past by digging up giant shark teeth, sea urchins and other marine fossils at this exclusive excavation site just North of Brooksville.

Participants will need to bring all the necessary tools for the dig-garden trowel, hammer, sunscreen, hat and a camera. Also, don’t forget to pack a lunch with extra water. You will need to meet near the fossil site north of Brooksville; confirmation letters with directions will be sent to all participants.

I’m sure you all are curious about the price of this dig, so to save you a little bit of time-here they are:

Program fee: $67 per parent-child team; $33 per additional family member

If you are a MOSI member…

$50 per parent-child team; $25 per additional family member.

Visit mosi.org for details on how to purchase tickets.

This looks like it will be a lot of fun for anyone interested in fossils, nature or history. Don’t miss out and as always keep checking back here for all of the wonderful Tampa Bay area events.
