... the Film Commission along with the rest of Tampa Bay & Company met this morning at the newly renovated Crowne Plaza hotel for it's monthly GM/DOS (General Manger/Director of Sales) meeting. During the meeting the Film Commission met with hoteliers and encouraged them to be 'film-friendly", as we always seek to make potential and current productions feel right at home here in Tampa Bay. Being just a fledgling intern, this was a great learning experience for me.
Later today, to close out National Tourism Week with a bang, we will be going to Raymond James Stadium for the Hospitality Olympics. While neither Lindsey nor I are members of any of the whopping 27 teams, from 1:30 to 5:30 we will be assisting with set up and judging as the teams participate in events such as the Water Waiter Relay and the Toilet Paper Toss (which I hear the Tampa Bay & Company team dominates every year). We will post pictures tomorrow for anyone who would like to see how the Olympics turn out (and with such intense competition plus a 50% chance of rain, it could get pretty messy!).
Also, to close this up for ya'll, the Tampa Bay Film Commission is now on Twitter! We want all you peeps out there to follow our tweets! To see our profile and follow us, click here.
