Spring is in the air! It's the perfect weather (as usual) to go out and experience Tampa Bay at its finest. Here are some fun things to do over this weekend March 11-13.
Rays Charity Challenge (March 12)
It's become a tradition for the past five years at Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training. Rays coaches, players and front office staff will shave their heads on Saturday to pay tribute to children fighting cancer. Kids who have just finished treatment line up behind the barber chairs in right field to shave heads of players. The event begins Saturday at 11 a.m., prior to the Rays-Yankees game at 1:05 p.m. at Charlotte Sports Park, 2300 El Jobean Road, Port Charlotte.
Rhianna at Amalie Arena (March 13)
Rhianna --the 25-year-old singer who has released seven albums and racked up twelve No. 1 singles, setting a record in the process as the solo artist with the fastest accumulation of ten chart-topping singles-- is making her way to Tampa this weekend for her Anti World Tour 2016. Tickets are still available to see her this Sunday 7:30 p.m. at the Amalie Arena Downtown.
Gasparilla Music Festival (March 12-13)
Multiple stages fill the Curtis Hixon Park downtown this weekend as the Gaparilla fest continues on. There's something for everyone between the kids fest, silent disco, yoga session and the latin stage. Tickets are still available for this weekend-long event!
Busch Gardens Food and Wine Festival (March 12-13)
Collective Soul and O.A.R. (OfAreRevolution rock band) are set to perform this weekend at The Busch Gardens Food & Wine Festival. The fun has already begun featuring concerts, culinary selections, more than 120 wines, craft brews and cocktails. The event is included with any pass, fun card or daily admission to the park.
Bay Area Renaissance Festival (March 12-13)
Bring your pet as a date to this weekends festivities at the Renaissance Festival. It's Pirates and Pets themed with activities from pet demos, weiner dog races, a pirate competition to craft beer and BBQ tasting, there's something for everyone.
