Hey Tampa, Melissa here to tell you about a really wonderful event that will taking place at the end of October.
The legendary Olivia-Newton John will team up with Moffitt Cancer Center founder, H. Lee Moffitt, Emerson Newton-John, Larry Foyt and Dr.Ernie Bodai and host “Pink and Blue for Two” (PB42) on October 27th, 2010.
The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness and funds for both breast and prostate cancer research; encouraging people to visit their doctors, take control of their own health and link the striking similarities between the two cancers. Their motto of “Screen Together, LIVE together” reminds you to remind one another of the importance of breast and prostate health for men and women. Combined, the two cancers will strike nearly 500,000 people this year. By joining them in the fight for cancer awareness and research, we are all one step closer to saving lives.
Olivia Newton-John has a career spanning over four decades and this Grammy-winning artist is also a 17-year breast cancer survivor. In addition to promoting awareness by opening up about her own cancer, Newton-John has worked to create the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. The centre will provide a comprehensive range of services and facilities for cancer treatment, education, training and research including a wellness center designed to heal a person from the inside, out.
PB42 will feature live musical performances, speaking engagements and silent auctions. The event will run from 7-10 p.m. at Busch Gardens and tickets are a steal-only $150! Olivia will even be doing a meet and greet for some guests.
Great Music, Great Time, Great Cause. Tickets are sure to sell out quickly so make sure you visit www.pinkandbluefortwo.com to purchase the tickets or make a donation. Every little bit helps, so get on and make a difference. All other details can be found on the website as well.
