Ok, we always fill you in on things to do in Tampa Bay, where to eat, what to do, where to stay and any other interesting Tampa Bay area events. Well, I just got some info in that I just had to share.
With the ground breaking of the new Tampa Museum of Art a few months ago, and as the new History Museum prepares to open, we now have word that the final piece to the Tampa museum puzzle, the Glazer children's Museum, will hopefully break ground in February and may even be open by mid 2010.
Here's some additional info straight from the museum -
The Glazer Children’s Museum will be located on Ashley Drive in the heart of downtown Tampa and the Cultural District. The new 53,000-square-foot museum, scheduled to open in downtown Tampa in mid 2010, will provide a safe, stimulating and playful environment where children and adults can learn about themselves, each other and the world they live in through exploration, role-playing and direct experience.
A combination of permanent and traveling exhibits, comprehensive year-round programs and special events will provide children, parents, caregivers and teachers with a rich and ever-changing environment for playful learning.
To learn more about the museum and how to help, visit www.glazermuseum.org or call 813-277-3199.
So, if you are in to the arts and culture scene in Tampa Bay, or even if you aren't, stay tuned for more info in the coming months.
