Hey everyone! Travis back with some info about great Tampa Bay area events for the New Year. As most of you know, the Outback Bowl will be played at Raymond James Stadium on New Year's Day. But, there will also be an Outback Bowl Parade that you can come out and experience...and we have all the info you need to enjoy it.
Ybor City will host the 24th Anniversary Outback Bowl Parade and Pep Rally tomorrow, Dec. 31 (yes, New Year's Eve) from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The parade begins at 20th and 7th Avenue proceeds west on 7th Avenue to 14th Street.
The event showcases several high school bands and the two Outback Bowl college bands. Following the parade, a pep rally takes place in the parking lot at 14th Street and 7th Avenue. In case you are driving through there, note that pedestrian barricades will be removed and 7th Avenue will be reopened at 9:00pm unless crowds dictate otherwise.
The Bus Drop Off for the Outback Bowl Parade will be on Palm Avenue between 15th and 20th Streets. The Bus Staging Area will be along Nick Nuccio Parkway.
The Parade Staging will be on 7th Avenue east of 20th Street to 26th Street (not between 21st and 22nd Streets); on 20th Street between Palm and 5th Avenue, on 9th Avenue between 18th Street and 20th Street and 8th avenue between 19th and 20th Streets.
The Centro Ybor and Palm Avenue Parking Garages will remain open throughout the day. The Centro Ybor Valet, located on 9th Avenue between 15th and 17th Streets, will operate continuously starting at 11:00am until about 2:00am the next morning. AND, the TECO Line Streetcar will operate throughout the event and has extended their hours that evening until 2:00am the next morning, January 1st.
And there you go. So make your plans to come out to Historic Ybor City for this amazing event. And as always, keep checking back for other great things to do in Tampa Bay, and other Tampa Bay entertainment options.
