Hey everyone.  Travis back with more great Tampa Bay area events.  We haven't mentioned anything about the Bok Tower Gardens for a while...well, we're back with a great Easter event for the entire family.  Here's the info:

Bok Tower Gardens will present the 84th annual Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 4 at 7 a.m. with free admission from 6 to 8 a.m. An annual tradition since 1926, worshipers are invited to experience the majesty of the sun rising over the horizon atop Iron Mountain.

Music will begin with Ben Pugh performing “Highland Cathedral,” “Amazing Grace” and other hymns on the bagpipes. Inspirational music will be presented by the Lake Wales Chorale and the Presbyterian Brass. The Reverend Thomas Seitz Jr., Rector, of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Lake Wales, will deliver an Easter sermon. The service will conclude with a half-hour concert performed by carillonneur William De Turk on the 60-bell Singing Tower carillon.

Following the service, the Blue Palmetto Café will offer a special buffet for $8.95 per person. Scrambled eggs, Spanish eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, muffins, fresh fruit and beverages including coffee, regular and decaf, and Florida’s Natural orange juice will be served.

At 1 and 3 p.m., De Turk will perform hymns and festival music for the occasion. Visitors can watch the half-hour concerts in a special seating area that has a video monitor located behind the Japanese Lantern near the Tower and meet De Turk by the Information Booth after the concerts.

Chairs will be provided for nearly 1,500 visitors expected to attend. Handicapped parking and shuttle service will be available. Flashlights and insect repellent are recommended. After 8 a.m. general admission to the Gardens is $10 for adults and $3 for children ages 5-12. Members and children under 5 are admitted free.
