Wishing you were at the real Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany? Have no worries because Tampa Bay is bringing this legendary festival to the Curtis Hixon Park. Celebrate the 6th annual Oktoberfest with plenty of beer, authentic German food, games and competitions!
A NIGHT AT THE OSCARS (8 p.m. Friday)
Relive some of the best award-winning films through music this Friday during “A Night at the Oscars” by the Florida Orchestra. The new music director, Michael Francis, will be kicking off this pop series with a selection of musical soundtracks to famous films including The Godfather, Lawrence of Arabia, Rocky, The Lord of the Rings, James Bond movies and many more.
VIKING FEST 2015 (2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday)
Get in touch with your Scandinavian heritage this Saturday during Viking Fest 2015 at the Tampa Bay Garden Club. This festival will have combat demonstrations, storytelling, games, and live music. There’s also an optional Scandinavian Dinner Buffet if you want to eat like a Viking. Kids get in for free – so bring them along and make it a family affair!
ZOOBOO KIDS (1 p.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday)
After you've finished Viking around, take the kiddied to enjoy ZooBoo at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo. In the spirit of Halloween, the zoo is offering this event to kids 11 and younger and features “fright-free” festivities like trick-or-treat stations and jeepers creepers critters encounters.
ICE CREAM SUNDAY (11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sunday)
Spend some quality time with your pup and enjoy an ice cream this Sunday at Washington St. Dog Park. Ice Cream Sunday is a great opportunity to socialize with other dog lovers while raising money for The Animal Coalition of Tampa. There will be local vendors, music, games and plenty of ice cream provided by Revolution Ice Cream Co. Don’t have a dog? You can give one a new home through onsite dog adoption by Hillsborough Pet Resource Center!
