See ya’ February… March is here and so is the wonderful bragging weather.  March is also Gasparilla Arts Month, a Tampa Bay community celebration of festivals; Gasparilla Arts Festival, Gasparilla Music Festival and Gasparilla International Film Festival.  With so much going on this month, we thought we could break it down, week by week.  With that being said, here are 5 things not to miss this weekend in Tampa Bay!

Gasparilla Arts Festival, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park (Saturday, March 1st and Sunday, March 2nd)
This family-friendly, FREE event transforms downtown Tampa into one giant outdoor arts museum with hundred of artists, hand-selected from over 1,000 submissions.  This arts festival began in 1970 and every year attracts more than 250,000 people.  From pottery and photography to glass, digital mediums, paintings, mixed media, wood and water colors there are plenty of treasures to take home.  For more information visit:

Florida Strawberry Festival, Plant City, FL
Florida’s BEST family recipe is here through March 9th.  The stars are bigger and better than the strawberries with big acts like Thompson Square, Little Big Town, Rascal Flats, The Band Perry and many, many more… and who could forget the biggest attraction, Plant City’s world-famous strawberry shortcake.  This is a festival you do not want to miss! MythBusters: After Dark & Food Truck Rally, MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) Friday, Feb. 28
This is the first chance you will be able to check out MythBusters after dark.  This after-hours event includes a discounted $5 admission to the general MOSI exhibits (does not include MythBusters) music, games and even local food trucks! NEW Journey to Madagascar exhibit, Florida Aquarium (Opening Saturday, March 1st)

Sea Lion Splash, Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo (Opening Saturday, March 1st through May 31st)
Nature’s top entertainers make a splash at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo’s newest attraction, Sea Lion Splash.  Opening Saturday, March 1st through May 31st these playful sea lions will be sure to bring the laughs!
