Join us in March for Gasparilla Arts Month featuring three dynamic festivals that highlight the extraordinary and vibrant cultural arts of Tampa Bay.

March into Tampa Bay for the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, one of America's highest-rated outdoor fine arts shows. Traditionally, the event boosts an attendance of over 250,000 visitors. Started in 1970 and held annually the first weekend in March, Tampa's downtown Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park transforms into a live art museum of 300 of the country's most accomplished artists and rising stars.
Whether a seasoned art collector, passionate art enthusiast or a first-timer the best part about attending the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts is the accessibility to the artists as well as an array of eclectic art including: ceramic, digital, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor and wood. In addition to art displays, the festival also includes live entertainment, children's activities and local food vendors.
Mark your calendars for Sat. Mar. 2, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sun. Mar. 3, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Prepare to be inspired, entertained and enlightened!
Gasparilla Music Festival (GMF)Back by popular demand and for a second year, The Gasparilla Music Festival (GMF) will return to rock you all day and all night in downtown Tampa's premiere event park, Curtis Hixon on Sat. Mar. 9. The waterfront park nestled in The Riverwalk art district provides a beautiful center-stage backdrop, and the area is no stranger to hosting musical legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Led Zeppelin and the Grateful Dead. Four stages will be set up for live musical performances and feature 25 national musical tours from a wide variety of genres as well as feature eclectic cuisine from the area's top restaurants. This year's bands include Best Coast, Dr. Dog, Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears, Dawes, Lord Huron, Ozomatli, The Meter Men with special guest Page McConnell, The Iguanas, Applebutter Express, Ozokidz, The Hip Abduction, Nervous Turkey and more. Advanced General Admission Tickets are $25, Day of Show General Admission Tickets are $30 with kids under 12 free. VIP Tickets are also available for $75. Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF)Towards the end of March, Tampa Bay's largest independent film festival, The Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF), owned and operated by the Tampa Film Institute will roll out the red carpet at various locations in downtown Tampa and South Tampa. The film festival starts on Mar. 19 and goes through Mar. 24.
Opening night will be held at the historic Tampa Theatre, a landmark jewel in the heart of downtown Tampa and a centerpiece of Tampa's cultural landscape. Mar. 20 through Mar. 21, screenings will be at the luxurious Cinebistro, located in Hyde Park Village and known for and incredible in-theatre dining experience. Mar. 22, 23 and 24 film screenings will be held at the Muvico Ybor, located in the heart of Tampa's Historic Latin Quarter.
The festival will return to The Tampa Theater to close out with a night film on Mar. 24. Prepare to be awed, amazed and don't be surprised to run into a few Hollywood celebrities. You never know who you might catch on the red carpet.
