I-75 and I-275 travel north-south; I-75 travels around Tampa while I-275 travels through the city and over the Bay. Both connect to I-4, which travels east-west, connecting Tampa Bay to Orlando and the east coast of Florida.

The area's bus service is supported by over 200 buses, and over 500 vehicles are available for taxi service. The average taxi from Tampa International Airport to downtown is $20 - $22, and there is a minimum $10 fare. Most hotels offer shuttle service to the airport and major attractions. Tampa's fleet of taxi drivers go through training with the Convention & Visitors Bureau and are knowledgeable on the destination and eager to help you discover Tampa Bay. For those whose transportation needs are not met by bus or taxi, more than 500 limousines are licensed to operate in the area.

Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (commonly referred to as HART) provides inter-city bus service. HART manages 207 buses on 26 routes, nine rubber-tired trolleys, and eight historic electric streetcars that connect downtown Tampa with countywide pick up and drop off locations. HART provides direct service from Tampa International Airport to downtown's Marion Transit Center. All HART buses, vans and streetcars are wheelchair accessible in accordance with requirements governed by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The In Town Trolley, a rubber-tired trolley, connects downtown hotels to the Tampa Convention Center and the TECO Line Streetcar System. It operates weekdays and provides an additional connection between downtown and local dining, shopping and entertainment destinations. Riders can make convenient connections between the rubber-wheeled trolley and the electric streetcar allowing car-free travel to historic Ybor City and numerous other attractions.

The Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) toll-free Florida 511 Traveler Information System provides traffic information on all of Tampa Bay's, and Florida's, interstates, toll roads and other metropolitan roadways. Travelers can call 511 or visit www.FL511.com for traffic information in both English and Spanish. www.FL511.com features the same traffic information as the phone call, along with hundreds of traffic cameras.

In addition to the 511 phone call and website, Florida travelers can now learn about roadway conditions by downloading FDOT's new 511 application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The Florida 511 app features text and audio updates on traffic conditions, travel times and more.
