City Dweller



Option A:

  • Start your day with a run or walk along scenic Bayshore Boulevard, the world’s longest sidewalk.
  • Take the free Uptown/Downtown Connector to cruise north and south through downtown Tampa. A PDF map of the trolley route can be found here.
  • Take in world-renowned Greek and Roman Classical antiquities, contemporary art, photography and 19th-20th century sculpture at the Tampa Museum of Art.
  • The Tampa Police Museum along Franklin Street Mall is a quick diversion.
  • Enjoy the Florida sunshine and live music during the lunch hour in Lykes Square, a one block park within the Central Business District.
  • Take in an indie or foreign film at the Tampa Theatre, an elaborate movie palace on the National Registry of Historic Places.
  • The free Tampa Bay History Center gives great insight into the area’s past.
Option B:
  • Explore the Channelside district near Downtown Tampa.
  • While near Channelside, take a self-guided tour of the SS American Victory Ship WWII Memorial and Museum.
  • Duck into the Channelside entertainment complex for some lunch and shopping. And if you find yourself in need of assistance, stop by our Visitor Information Center.
  • Catch some spectacular opera, comedy, cabaret, plays, dance, music, alternative theater and Broadway at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center or take a dinner and dancing cruise aboard the Yacht StarShip.
